for many of my pottery vessels comes from nature, as does the clay I
use in my work. A gift for me is the beautiful red-brown clay I dig on
my ranch in Julian. After I learned the basics of how to throw on the
potter's wheel about 35 years ago, I found it to be relaxing and a very
creative and expressive art medium. The soft feel of the clay and its
pliability makes working with it almost a meditative thing.

grahamwilder@julianimages.comwww.julianimages.comFine art photography Graham Wilder grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in the town of St. Joseph. Even before picking up his first camera as a young boy, Graham looked at everything as though framing a photograph. For him there was always a unique and interesting way to "see" things, especially the beauty and variety in nature. As a result, even his earliest photos were striking in their originality of perspective and composition.
Though encouraged by friends to pursue a career in photography, after graduating from the University of Michigan, Graham's life took a more inward turn. He joined a yoga ashram where, for the next 29 years, he would discover and explore realms of subtler beauty beyond the reach of physical sight. Graham relocated to Julian in 2005 and since then, his passion for photography has once again come to the forefront. The result is the birth of stunning images that hauntingly capture a beauty and tranquility that transcends nature's outward forms, conveying a uniquely wonderful and sometimes whimsical view of "reality."
