The historic rural town of Julian sits high in the Southern California mountains northeast of San Diego. A gold rush town known for its scenery and delicious apples, Julian is known as a mecca for world class fine artists, talented craftsmen and writers.
The Julian Arts Guild was founded 52 years ago, in 1971, with the purpose of bringing together artists, artisans, and other interested persons in the community for artistic, professional, social purposes, but to also stimulate the artistic interests of the community at large and educate town members. The Guild provides a vehicle, through sponsored events, for the display and demonstration of works produced by its members.
Over the years, the Guild has grown into a non-profit organization with three annual art shows, workshops, demonstrations, and speakers at its monthly meetings. The Julian Arts Guild is made up of a diverse group of artists working in many different mediums.
Our newest venture is a permanent gallery located in downtown Julian at 2608 B Street. We are currently accepting applications to join the gallery rotation of artists.
The Julian Arts Guild meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 3 p.m. in the community room at the Julian Branch Library, 1850 Highway 78, Julian CA 92036.
