October 6/7 October 13 Borrego Art Institute will soon receive art for their show of photographic art. Opening reception on Saturday, October 13, 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Work will be accepted October 6 & 7. There will be an entry fee for non-members of BAI of $10 per submitted work of art. Artists will be limited to up to three photographs Link Here

September 28 October 20 Fine Artists are welcome to show their fine art (no crafts) at the Borrego Days Festival at the Fine Arts Show from 4-7pm. Click here for the flyer.Booth fees are only $75. For information on participating, contact Aaron Dennis immediately.

October 21 The Escondidio Chamber is looking for vendors for the Grand Avenue Festival from 9am – 5pm. This is a special opportunity to have a vendor space for $25.00 as you are associated with the JAG non-profit.  The spaces will be next to the Escondido Municipal Gallery and the “Art in the Garden” so we can all work together for the arts.Flyer here. 

The work of Margaret Larlham is currently on exhibitions at the Santa Ysabel Gallery.

September 25 Life Drawing Night –  6pm – 8pm at the Julian Branch Library.

MOLAA invites artists from Southern California to submit art works and ofrenda proposals for Beyond the Earth and the Sky, MOLAA’s 2018 Día de los muertos Exhibition. Click here for more information.

For those who participate, note that the Borrego Art Institute has moved their guild show from February to December.

December 3 The application for the 2019 Marjorie and Joseph Rubenson Endowment for Art and Science at Volcan Mountain Short-term Residency is now available. Deadline is December 3rd. Flyer available here. 

October 5 Check out the First Friday open house at 2Create Gallery in Ramona. Every month from 6pm-8pm. These have been great events for artists in the community to come together. Additionally, The Art Center in Ramona has some fantastic classes available from still life painting to fused glass.

October 27 November 2-30 Here is the prospectus for Brandon Gallery’s 12th Annual Small Works Show. A great opportunity to show your work!

November 1st/24th Novemeber 25 Here is a Flyer and Prospectus for The San Diego Watercolor Society’s Plein Air Exhibition which is open to all San Diego County artists.

Enter the Bold Brush monthly painting contests! Every month they host a new competition with cash prizes. Information available here.
